After a recent injury suffered by Anthony Davis on his Dallas Mavericks debut, his new teammate Kyrie Irving took his place for the upcoming NBA All-Star Game. He will be joining the others to play alongside the other All-Stars, after getting his 9th nod. But while he has his career accomplishments to be proud of, he is also a loyal friend, which is also something he should definitely get a pat on the back for.

Kyrie Irving talks about his friendship with Luka Doncic

Playing together for the Dallas Mavericks for the last year and a half, Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic became close friends. But after the biggest shock during the latest trade period, when Mavs GM Nico Harrison traded him off to the Los Angeles Lakers, the two friends are now getting ready to face off against each other. But that does not mean their friendship has been impaired in any way.

It was of course difficult for Irving after Doncic had to leave the Mavericks. In a press bite he revealed how he missed his "hermano" and that "it hurt" how things went down. But that does not affect their friendship, and that they are loyal to one another.

"We’ve texted back and forth. I’ve let him know that regardless of how this NBA business shakes out…We’re loyal to each other’s families now. We had a lot of sacred conversations that went beyond the court, and just helping each other as men."

They plan to catch up with each other during the All-Star Weekend. But even if they are living in two different states, their friendship is just as strong as it always was.

Kyrie Irving gets his fourth All-Star nod

During his Dallas Mavericks debut against the Houston Rockets, Anthony Davis suffered from a groin injury. But being out with injury right now means he will also be missing out in the All-Star Game. AD waa part of the All-Star First team, but now because of his injury, he was replaced by his Mavs teammate Kyrie Irving.

This is Irving's fourth All-Star nod and he is pretty grateful for the selection.

“We’ve been grinding it out all season, trying to figure out how we can get the best out of each other. I’m grateful, I don’t take that reward, or that accomplishment for granted.”

We will hopefully get to see Irving getting together with his friends during the All-star Weekend, especially Luka Doncic.
