LeBron James’ Lakers are actively seeking upgrades in the backcourt and center positions after acquiring Dorian Finney-Smith in December. With their current roster gaps, Colin Sexton and Walker Kessler present appealing options. Sexton could provide a much-needed depth following the departure of D’Angelo Russell. Walker Kessler, on the other hand, would address the team’s thin frontcourt and offer valuable support for Anthony Davis.

Colin Sexton, who signed a four-year, $70,950,000 contract in 2022, is earning $18,350,000 this season, making him a viable option for the Los Angeles Lakers. The team possesses sufficient assets to propose a competitive deal to the Utah Jazz. Potential trade packages could include contracts like Gabe Vincent, Jarred Vanderbilt, or Rui Hachimura, paired with veteran minimum deals and draft picks.

Moreover, the Los Angeles Lakers have the flexibility to offer two second-round picks and three tradeable first-round picks. They could even opt to unprotect the 2027 first-round pick, which is currently owed to the Jazz with certain conditions.

A unique twist in this trade story is the involvement of sports astrologer "Zodiac GM," who provided a synergy analysis for Sexton with the Lakers. According to the astrologer, Sexton’s compatibility with LeBron James and the Lakers earned an A- grade. This places them on par with the Orlando Magic and just behind the Miami Heat, who received an A+ grade.

In a tweet, "Zodiac GM" stated, "Synergy fit rating: Orlando Magic: A-, Milwaukee Bucks: C+, Los Angeles Lakers: A-, Miami Heat: A+, Detroit Pistons: B-, San Antonio Spurs: B+."

While Sexton could solve immediate backcourt concerns, Lakers GM Rob Pelinka may aim higher by acquiring Walker Kessler in the same deal. At just 22 years old, Kessler is seen as a bigger priority, offering a long-term solution for the team’s frontcourt depth issues.
