"He was a teammate of Doncic during the 2020-21 season with the Dallas Mavericks and could welcome the opportunity to play for a possible contender like Los Angeles."

Josh Richardson still provides dependable defence and sporadic offensive flashes, even though he may not be the same player he was when he was at his best with the Miami Heat or Sixers. Given his background and connection with Doncic, he might fit right in with the Los Angeles Lakers' system.

The buyout market is expected to feature several guards, giving the Lakers options to consider. However, Josh Richardson’s skill set and prior connection with Doncic make him a standout candidate.
