NEW DELHI: LaVar Ball made some noteworthy comments regarding NBA players and their relationships, particularly addressing the issue of players being provoked into physical altercations by their partners. This discussion arises in the context of several incidents where partners and wives of NBA players have filed assault cases against the players, leading to controversies off the court.
During an interview with VLAD TV, Ball was asked about his sons and their relationships, and whether having children at a young age is disappointing to him as the CEO of the Big Ballers brand. He responded by saying, "I'm not even disappointed at that because at the end of the day, you got to do what you got to do, and as I said, they would never do that, and my boys can also be lucky and pick the right one."
Ball also expressed his admiration for his son LaMelo Ball's partner, Ana, stating, "Now the woman that Melo [LaMelo Ball] has, Ana. I like her, I love her. Everybody is stuck on her like, 'Oh, she's so old. He's so young. You don't hear my son beating up her. She is a woman. These other girls are pushing buttons to make these NBA basketball players go crazy, and now they're beating them and strangling them, and losing their whole career."
LaVar Ball's three sons all have partners. Lonzo Ball, the eldest, is in a relationship with Ally Rossell, while LiAngelo Ball is dating former reality TV star Nikki Mudarris. LaMelo Ball, the youngest and a player for the Charlotte Hornets, is in a relationship with Ana Montana, who is also 33 years old.
LaVar Ball seems proud that none of his sons have been involved in controversies with their partners, unlike other NBA players like Miles Bridges (LaMelo Ball's teammate on the Hornets) and former Houston Rockets star Kevin Porter Jr., who have faced allegations of physical assault against their partners.
For the Ball brothers, their primary focus remains on their basketball careers. Lonzo is currently recovering from an injury and played for the Chicago Bulls, while LiAngelo is with the Greensboro Swarm. The spotlight is on LaMelo as he aims for a successful season with the Charlotte Hornets.
