NBA Trade Rumor: Golden State Warriors eye blockbuster trade for $215 million Chicago Bulls star; Buddy Hield on the table as key trade asset

The Golden State Warriors may be on the verge of making a significant roster change, with reports suggesting they could trade Buddy Hield and other assets to acquire Chicago Bulls star Zach LaVine. While Hield has struggled with his perimeter shooting since December, LaVine remains an efficient three-level scorer who could elevate the Warriors’ offensive firepower alongside Stephen Curry.

Golden State has reportedly discussed a trade centered around Andrew Wiggins, who is on a $23 million contract. Additional assets in the proposed deal include Gary Payton II ($9.1 million), Moses Moody ($5.8 million), and Buddy Hield ($8.6 million), along with some draft capital. Despite active trade talks, the Warriors have excluded Jonathan Kuminga from negotiations.

“The big question is, what would the Warriors be willing to offer the Bulls in a trade for (Zach) LaVine,” Empire Sports Media’s Davin McFarland wrote Friday. “In recent discussions, Jonathan Kuminga has been excluded from negotiations, but this may not hinder Golden State’s plans.”

Why do the Golden State Warriors want Zach LaVine?

LaVine has been a key trade candidate since October, with the Chicago Bulls looking to move on from the two-time All-Star. The Bulls lack a roster capable of making a deep playoff run, and LaVine’s departure seems inevitable.

Despite Chicago’s struggles, LaVine has played some of the most efficient basketball of his career this season. The UCLA product is averaging 24.0 points per game while shooting 51.1 percent from the field and 44.6 percent from three-point range. His ability to score at all levels would be a perfect complement to Curry’s elite shooting and playmaking.

One of the key reasons the Warriors might be willing to part ways with Hield is his recent shooting slump. Once known as a lethal perimeter shooter, Hield has struggled from beyond the arc since December. This decline has raised concerns about his fit within Golden State’s system, making LaVine a more attractive option.

How does Zach LaVine fit with the Golden State Warriors squad?

If the trade materializes, LaVine would join a championship-caliber team led by Curry, a two-time MVP and four-time NBA champion. His scoring versatility could relieve some of the offensive burden on Stephen Curry while providing the Warriors with another dynamic playmaker.
