The reigning MVP, Joel Embiid, was a late scratch for the 76ers due to knee soreness. This marked the fourth consecutive time Embiid has not played in Denver. The Sixers were also missing Tobias Harris (illness), Tyrese Maxey (ankle sprain), De'Anthony Melton (back), and Robert Covington (knee).
Despite the absence of key players, the short-handed 76ers gave the Nuggets a tough challenge. Paul Reed had a career-high 30 points and 13 rebounds, Kelly Oubre Jr. contributed 25 points, and Patrick Beverley and Marcus Morris Sr. scored 17 points each.
The game remained close, with the Nuggets struggling to pull away from the depleted 76ers. In the fourth quarter, Denver managed to create some separation. Michael Porter Jr. hit a crucial 3-pointer to put the Nuggets ahead, and they extended the lead further with a 7-0 run.
The 76ers fought back, tying the score at 96-all with just over four minutes remaining. However, Denver responded with timely baskets, including a key corner 3-pointer from Porter. Despite Philadelphia's efforts, the Nuggets secured the victory with a 111-105 final score.
