Ivica Zubac scored 17 points

The Clippers struggled early against the San Antonio Spurs, trailing by 26 points in the first quarter due to a shaky defense and seven turnovers. However, they got back in the game in the second quarter. The team limited the Spurs to 16 points while scoring 34. Norman Powell’s 23 points led the game and with Amir Coffey’s 21 points, the Clippers secured the win 113-104. It has ended their three-game losing streak and secured their first victory at the Intuit Dome.

Ivica Zubac scored 17 points, and 13 rebounds also served as one of the crucial moments in the game. "That’s the Clippers way. We can't do it the easy way, we always have to fight back and be dramatic but a win is a win," Zubac said.

One of the highlights of the game came when Zubac snatched an offensive rebound and executed a left-handed dunk over Victor Wembanyama late in the second quarter. The Clippers center also dunked over Wembanyama again in the fourth quarter but he was fouled this time. “I learned today that’s the only way you can, when he’s in the paint, that’s the only thing you can do against him. You got to hit body and try to go dunk everything,” Zubac said of Spurs star, Wembanyama. “He’s just so tall and he’s got the longest wingspan I’ve ever seen. He’s going to block everything if you try to go float [over] him, or hook him. So, you just got to try to go through his chest,” the Croatian athlete added.

As for Wembanyana, he scored more than Zubac earning 24 points, 13 rebounds and nine blocks for the Spurs.

Before the game, LA Clippers owner Steve Ballmer joked with the players, saying he feared his new $2 billion building might be cursed and that he might need to tear it down and start fresh. Of course, his humor was intended to help ease the tension but the Clippers fought hard to secure the win and it is fair to assume that the win would put a smile on Ballmer’s face.
