Chet Holmgren will be missing his second game in a row, after he was ruled out with a back injury against the Sacramento Kings on October 28. Now, he is also set to miss the game against the Washington Wizards next, with the same problem persisting. The game will kick off at 8:00 pm ET on October 30, 2025, as the Thunder host the Wizards at the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Fans are hoping that the player can get back courtside soon, and this injury doesn't turn into a long-term issue.
Chet Holmgren set to miss two straight games
Chet Holmgren's back problem started a day before the Sacramento Kings game, when the Oklahoma City Thunder faced the Dallas Mavericks. They won the game 107-101, but the player allegedly experienced some discomfort during the game, which led to his missing the team's next game against the Kings. And now, two days into this, he will be missing another one, this time against the Washington Wizards.
In the 2025-26 season for the OKC Thunder, the player has averaged 23.0 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 2.6 stocks (steals plus blocks) in 3 games played, so far. Hopefully, the injury does not cause any long-term problems and Holmgren can get back on the court soon.
Chet Holmgren missed a significant part of 2024-25 NBA season
Chet Holmgren missed a significant portion of last season because of a hip injury.
Fans are hoping that his back problem, which he described as feeling a tightness after the Dallas Mavericks match, is not a continuation of the same. The 23-year-old center is an important part of the team, and hopefully can make a return soon.
The team's upcoming match against the Washington Wizards, even though the team has quite a few players out injured, will probably end in their favor. They are currently on a 5-0 run this season, and the team as well as the fans hope they can continue this momentum.
