Ken Griffey Jr., who played alongside his father in MLB, offered advice to Bronny James on navigating the NBA with LeBron James as his father. While Bronny's path differs from his father's, he has the potential to develop into a valuable role player for the Lakers.

The son of a three-time All-Star and two-time World Series champion, Ken Griffey Jr. was destined for Hall of Fame greatness. Yet he was blessed with the opportunity to play alongside his father, Ken Griffey Sr., for the early years of his career. That might have been what helped Griffey connect with LeBron James' son. Griffey shared his father's words of wisdom on Nightcap with Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson, saying that to Bronny he was just a regular teammate while in the facility and a father and son at home. He spoke with Bronny James as well, saying he should enjoy this experience and be himself. He does not have to be his dad. Also Read: “What do you mean?”: LeBron James seemed frustrated by a reporter's speculative question about Anthony Davis' injury

Ken Griffey Jr. advices Bronny James to relax and enjoy

Bronny James made his NBA debut sitting beside his father, LeBron James, on October 23. The Griffeys attended the game to mark them as the first father and son to participate together for MLB. In his venture with LeBron in the league, Ken Jr. enlightened Bronny on how this ought to be done. Ken Jr. revealed his advice to the Lakers rookie in the latest episode of Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson's show, Night Cap With Unc & Ocho saying, "You're gonna learn a lot by being able to sit there and be on the bench watching him.
Ken Jr. argued that younger NFL quarterbacks lack the mentorship opportunities of their older counterparts, highlighting the need for LeBron presence. "I did tell Bronny, 'Hey, relax, enjoy it, be you, you're not gonna be him [LeBron]. Nobody's him.'”While other father-son teams had played in the league earlier, Ken Griffey Sr. and Ken Griffey Jr. were actually the first father-son combo to play on the same MLB team in 1990. Griffey Sr. played 18 seasons from 1973 to 1991 while being a 22nd-round pick in 1973. Griffey Jr., on the other hand, became the No. 1 pick in 1987. These two differed in entering their professional ranks.Griffey Jr. was an over-the-top draft and took the Seattle Mariners franchise to new heights in impressive performance in his first 11 years. Bronny is not a polished prospect coming out of the draft, going very late in the second round. The LA outfit will have the best outside the LeBron James fathering duties, but it could make him LA's best supporting player after his famous father. Bronny is going to spend most of his rookie season in the G League. He will have enough time to develop and hone his skills for a rotational role with the Lakers. The ceiling for him remains that of an efficient 3-and-D role player but with much room for improvement in the offense. Also Read: The Minnesota Timberwolves beats the Charlotte Hornets with a 114-93 as Naz Reid scores 25 points
