BCCL launches 'Superpacer' hunt for India's fastest bowler

MUMBAI: BCCL Languages (Navbharat Times, Maharashtra Times, Vijay Karnataka, Ei Samay, Navgujrat Samay) has embarked on 'Superpacer,' powered by the Delhi Daredevils -- a quest to help India find the country's fastest bowler.
The hunt will be conducted through various camps in 12 cities (Delhi, Ghaziabad, Lucknow, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, Kolhapur, Aurangabad, Nashik, Nagpur, Ahmedabad & Bangalore) across India to find a youngster who clocks the quickest speed.The participants should be less than 22 years of age and must not have played professional cricket.
Participation will be free of cost. A few of the talented youngsters from these camps may go on to eventually play for their state or even the country. In the zonal and national rounds, line and length of a bowler will also be assessed. However, the yardstick for final selection will remain the sheer pace which a bowler is able to generate.
The selection will rest in the hands of an expert panel. The chief mentor of 'Superpacer' is fast bowling great and former West Indies captain, Courtney Walsh. Other zonal mentors include former India players David Johnson, Deep Dasgupta, Chetan Sharma and Saurabh Walker. The five fastest bowlers will get an opportunity to be a part of the 'net bowling squad' of IPL franchise Delhi Daredevils.
