BRIDGETOWN, June 15: All-rounder Chris Gayle will take over the captaincy from Daren Ganga in the 14-man West Indies cricket squad for limited-overs matches against England.
Gayle, the powerful left-handed opener and right-arm off-spinner, received the leadership on Thursday when Ganga was not included in the squad by the West Indies Cricket Board. Shivnarine Chanderpaul was named vice-captain.

Ramnaresh Sarwan was initially expected to lead West Indies for the three One-Day Internationals and two Twenty20 matches but he was forced home when he injured his shoulder while fielding in the second Test at Headingley.
The one newcomer in the squad was Austin Richards Jr, a flashy left-handed opener from Antigua.
It will be the first international outing for the 23-year-old Richards, who has played 10 first-class matches and made 682 runs at an average of 37.88. His high score was 183, and he has played for West Indies A.
The selectors recalled all-rounder Dwayne Smith and right-handed opener Lendl Simmons, who both played in the World Cup but were dropped from the Test team.
West Indies will play the Twenty20 matches at the Oval in London on June 28 and 29. The three One-dayers will be at Lords on July 1, Edgbaston on July 4, and Trent Bridge on July 7.
