KARACHI, June 19: Pakistan will take part in a tri-series with India in Bangladesh in May next year, the PCB announced on Tuesday.
The competition is part of a hectic schedule that Pakistan faces in the next 12 months during which they play eight Tests against South Africa, India and Australia as well as about 35 One-Day Internationals.
While South Africa tour Pakistan from September 26 to October 29 to play three Tests and five One-Day Internationals, Pakistan go to India for a similar series from November 2 to December 13.
Pakistan also host Zimbabwe for five One-dayers from January 21 to February 7 after which world champions Australia tour the country from March 10 to April 27.
Pakistan is also due to host the Asia Cup in April 2008.
The Afro-Asia Cup are also planned in Nairobi in June.
Pakistan will also take part in a Twenty20 Championship in Toronto in August this year and host the Mohammad Nissar Trophy match between the national domestic champions of Pakistan and India.
"The next 12 months are a crucial period for our team. As after the World Cup we have to ensure a strong rebuilding phase," Zakir Khan, PCB's Director (Cricket Operations), said.
"To ensure improving the bench strength we have also arranged to give maximum exposure to our junior and A team reserve players," he said.
Pakistan was eliminated in the first round of the World Cup in the West Indies and since then the Board has appointed a new captain in Shoaib Malik and are due to select a new coach.
