KARACHI: Pakistan's left-arm pacer Sohail Tanvir has been signed up by English county Surrey for the remainder of the ongoing season.
He will play for at least two months for Surrey, his manager said.
Tanvir was overlooked for Pakistan's One-day series in Sri Lanka from July 30 but was included in the provisional squad for the Champions Trophy in September.
Tanvir, who stood out with his performance in the first Indian Premier League and the inaugural Twenty20 World Cup, has been struggling for form in recent times and was dropped after playing a few games in the recent T20 World Cup in England.
Surrey have in the past also played Pakistani bowlers Waqar Younis and Saqlain Mushtaq and Tanvir said his decision to join the county was based on the fact that they had excellent training and conditioning facilities at the Oval.
Tanvir's manager Salman Ahmed said Hampshire have shown interest in signing up pace bowler Umar Gul for the remainder of the season.
