Even though retired, Tom Brady still puts much effort into his fitness regimen by working out. Through his Instagram account, he showed his morning routine, which includes swimming; and recently, he showed off his first max bench attempt in nearly two decades. Even though he does not have to be field-ready anymore, as during the course of his 23 years in football, Brady continues to favor his fitness. His sunrise-backed training photos can be seen in his morning routine.

Tom Brady reveals new addition to his workout

The lead color commentator for Fox Sports, a seven-time Super Bowl champion, posed shirtless in a plyometric box in his Miami home. He sported white Nobull drive mesh sneakers and weight and workout bands and was spotted swimming in the pool. His final image captures him in the middle of his workout. “Color analysts have to stay in shape too! Added some swimming into the workout routine this year… great muscle resistance and some aerobic cardio all at once,” he wrote in the caption. “4x100 free; 4x25 fast, 25 recovery; 2x200 free; 20x Weighted step up; 20x Heavy resistance band pushup; 10x Box Jump; Repeat x4.”

Rob Gronkowski, former teammate of former NFL quarterback Tom Brady, expressed surprise at Brady's improved lifestyle since retiring in February 2023. Gronkowski, who retired after 23 seasons, was surprised by Brady's self-care since retiring from football. Brady's retirement was a significant step in his personal growth. "I think he's in better shape than he was when he was playing," Gronkowski told PEOPLE. "Every time I see him, he looks better and better. It's just unbelievable how he pulls it off! The guy just had a 23-year career and he's still all over the place doing things, making people smile and throwing footballs with kids," Gronkowski said.

Brady made his Fox Sports broadcasting debut, calling the Dallas Cowboys-Cleveland Browns game on September 8. After the game, he expressed a positive response to colleague Kevin Burkhardt's question about his first game as a commentator. “I was using my arm and my body for so many years, and now I get to a stadium and I get to use my voice,” Brady responded. “I might get out there tomorrow morning and throw some passes just to remember what it feels like. But as Michael Strahan told me in the pregame, ‘You’re going to wake up Monday morning and you aren’t going to be sore,’ and that I’m very happy about.”
