Braxton Berrios, former Miami Dolphins wide receiver, has officially found his next NFL destination. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Berrios has inked a one-year, $2 million deal with the Houston Texans, facilitated by his agents Drew Rosenhaus and Robert Bailey. The 29-year-old playmaker, known for his versatility, will now look to re-establish himself after a challenging 2024 season cut short by injury.
Alix Earle Reacts as Boyfriend Braxton Berrios Secures His Next NFL Opportunity
Berrios suffered a torn ACL in his sixth game with the Dolphins last season, a setback that sidelined him for the remainder of the year. Though he did not record any receptions in those appearances, he contributed as a kickoff and punt returner under head coach Mike McDaniel. Despite the injury, Berrios boasts a respectable NFL resume, tallying 134 catches for 1,323 yards and six touchdowns, alongside four rushing touchdowns and one on special teams. His ability to impact multiple phases of the game made him an attractive option for the Texans, who are eager to strengthen their special teams unit and receiving corps.
As Berrios embarks on this new chapter, his longtime supporter and girlfriend, Alix Earle, is cheering him on from afar. The popular social media influencer, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model, and entrepreneur is currently in Paris for work but made sure to celebrate the milestone. Sharing the moment on Instagram, Earle posted a Zoom call clip where Berrios delivered the exciting news, setting the video to Beyoncé’s hit song "TEXAS HOLD 'EM."
"Braxton got the call today he will be playing for the Houston Texans this next year!" she wrote. "So incredibly proud & CANT WAIT to see what this next year brings."
Since making their relationship public in 2023, Berrios and Earle have been unwavering in their support for one another. Earle, who affectionately referred to her boyfriend as "NFL man" on her podcast, has been open about their dynamic. "I really do appreciate NFL man, and he is the best and is so respectful of me and I'm trying to be my best self," she shared. "I don't think we've ever had a fight about anything."
Their bond was put to the test last October when Berrios suffered his season-ending knee injury. Earle made it a priority to be by his side during recovery, flying back to Miami to support him. "He's just always been so positive and such a good reinforcement in my life, so I'm happy to be able to be there for him," she told People magazine. "I have no doubt he'll come out on the other side even better."
Earle has also spoken about Berrios' romantic gestures, recalling how he often plans surprises for her. "He'll always plan some fun surprise for me," she said. "He picks me up with flowers or something, and then the element of surprise is really fun. No matter what we do, we always have fun together."
With Berrios now focused on making the Texans' roster, questions remain about whether Earle will relocate to Houston or continue splitting her time between Texas and Miami. Given her thriving career and financial flexibility, she certainly has the means to make it work.
