Can Aaron Rodgers Be Trusted to Turn This Season Around or Is It Time for Major Changes?

The New York Jets are having a tough season, with a disappointing... Read More
This city that never sleeps knew a team losing for yet another miserable loss. Second to none are the New York Jets at turning questionable performances into routine affairs. After week five a dismal opening act of the season sealed the deal of the head coach, Robert Saleh out of his door. Hope came in an otherwise disastrous season during week six, but the Jets did very little in giving themselves a prayer to stay in the game they were playing against their AFC East division rivals, and the Buffalo Bills took a much-needed hard earned victory.

Chris Canty Speaks on Jets Game

Former New York Jets defensive end Chris Canty discussed the game while on ESPN's "Unsportsmanlike." Host Michelle Smallmon began with: "I think you can say that neither one of the city's pro baseball teams, the Yankees or the Mets, had lost their games, but the Jets didn't fare so well.". Canty shot back with a quick quip: "Well, I mean there's a New York football team that handled their business last night. Not the New York City, New York state football team. There you go." His jab at the Jets was particularly salty given their pitiful 2-4 record at that point.

Jet penalties and missed opportunities

When the Jets needed to play faultlessly, they instead racked up 11 penalties for 110 yards on the worst penalty record of its kind in franchise history short of the worst. It became a case of Aaron Rodgers' calls to flip the script in the fourth quarter when a bitter Taron Johnson interception had them scrambling for answers.

Aaron Rodgers Speaks After Loss

According to him during a press conference, "We need to get going. Some games you win in the NFL, and some games you give away. This was a giveaway," he said. For him, it would be the first time in his career when, after six games, he would experience a record of loss; thus, the Jets have to score touchdowns.

Frustration from the Team

Wide receiver Garrett Wilson expressed the same sentiment as he manifested frustration over their close loss. "We have to find a way to score touchdowns because I don't want to keep feeling like this. It's frustrating. I'm here to win those games," he said. And with the season hanging in the balance, what Coach Jeff Ulbrich must be able to do now is fashion a good game plan to send the Jets back to being a dangerous team.
