NEW DELHI: The Cleveland Browns have reportedly signed veteran quarterback Joe Flacco to their practice squad, with expectations that he will be promoted to the active roster. This move comes after starting quarterback Deshaun Watson was placed on injured reserve earlier in the week due to a season-ending shoulder injury.

In Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Dorian Thompson-Robinson took over as quarterback for the Browns, guiding them to a 13-10 victory. Thompson-Robinson completed 24 of 43 passes for 165 yards with one interception.

With the addition of Joe Flacco, Cleveland aims to bolster its quarterback depth. Flacco, at 38 years old, brings a wealth of experience, having played in 183 career games with 180 starts. He has had stints with the Baltimore Ravens (2008-2018), Denver Broncos (2019), and the New York Jets (2020-2022). Flacco notably led the Ravens to a Super Bowl victory in 2013, earning MVP honors in the process. Last season with the Jets, he appeared in five games, making four starts, and threw for 1,051 yards with five touchdowns and three interceptions.

As the Browns navigate the remainder of the season without Deshaun Watson, Flacco provides a seasoned option at the quarterback position. The move reflects Cleveland's commitment to maintaining depth and experience at a crucial position in their pursuit of success in the league.
