Dave Bautista, better known as
Batista from his wrestling days, recently showed up in a comic commercial for the faux product “
NFL Patch” during Fox's NFL Sunday pre-game show. Bautista introduced the NFL Patch as some kind of wonder fix for whatever ails an NFL team in comedic form. He pointed out teams such as the Carolina Panthers and their struggles, and how a patch can magically turn such teams around. “It's going to take more than the NFL Patch to fix that mess”, he quipped.
The humor in that, as Bautista also joked about the Panthers and Dallas Cowboys while saying he did not care if Ezekiel Elliott was returning, made fan favorite comedic relief to a world of professional football usually pretty serious.
The NFL Patch is a fictional commercial using sports commentary with humor to entertain NFL fans. Though there was no product, this parody ad had fans hoping they had an easy fix for ailing franchises and/or rosters that sometimes change more often than one can even imagine. Obviously, the crossover from WWE to Hollywood and the ad world of the NFL just goes to show how versatile Bautista is when it comes to entertaining people-be it in blockbuster movies or adding some humor when football is on.
Fans can't seem to get enough of Bautista's charm and humor.
Dave Bautista does an incredible weight loss every now and then that takes the fans aback. Known usually for his bulky physique, he surprised his fans with a slender figure at the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of The Last Showgirl. Fans took his new striking feature to the social media platforms, compared the side-by-side images of him in 2022 fully muscular with his look in TIFF 2024, and wrote, "What happened to Dave Bautista?”
Bautista shared details about his weight loss in an interview with Chris Van Vliet, stating he is now more mindful of his diet. He said, “I’m around 240 lbs. now, which is the lightest I’ve been in decades. Getting the weight off has been a tough journey, but I’m happy with where I am.”
