Bo Nix made a touchdown pass to Marvin Mims in Week 17, making it the longest throw of 2024

Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix's 51-yard cannon against the Cincinnati Bengals, per Next Gen Stats and ESPN NFL analyst Benjamin Solak, was the longest completion of the season, going out 67 yards in distance in the air. In terms of NGS's overall database, it ranks second, going back all the way to 2016.

From Next Gen Stats, “Bo Nix‘s 51-yard TD pass to Marvin Mims traveled 67.0 yards in the air, the longest completion by air distance of the season and the second-longest in the NGS era (since 2016), behind only P.J. Walker to D.J. Moore in Week 8, 2022 (67.6 yards).”
The Denver Broncos lost to the Cincinnati Bengals 30-24 in overtime. Nix had a mixed game with some great throws but missed some opportunities. The highlight was a 51-yard touchdown pass to Marin Mims Jr., the longest completion in the NFL this season, which tied the game in the 4th quarter.

After a Nix interception, the Bengals took the lead at 24-17. Nix led the Broncos down the field, connecting with Mims for a 25-yard touchdown, cutting the lead to 24-23. Sean Payton tied the game at 24 with an extra point. The Broncos struggled in the overtime period, despite multiple points put opportunities, ultimately punting on both drives. Denver's luck on the second Bengal drive led to a missed field goal.\
Denver must tie or win to secure the playoff berth, and Nix and Broncos can seal a win with a field goal and potential first downs, while Denver needs to tie or win. The Broncos lost to the Bengals when Tee Higgins scored a touchdown. Now, they will either win or make it in the playoffs against the Kansas City Chiefs. Denver has already clinched the No. 1 overall seed, so starters can sit this out. The Broncos still control their destiny into Week 18.

Nix showed resilience in Cincinnati, keeping Denver in the game when Denver seemed to lose its steam. However, his decision-making needs work. His interception was destined for disaster because he did not see Pratt in front of Sutton. Nix has thrown 12 interceptions this season, and most of them are controversial.
