Travis Kelce sure knows how to keep things light and hilarious, especially when it comes to hot topics like the recent TikTok blackout in the U.S. In the latest episode of the "New Heights" podcast, Travis gave fans a hilarious and refreshingly indifferent take on the whole situation that had TikTok users in a frenzy just days ago.
“I’m Out Of A Job”
When his brother, Jason Kelce, started the conversation by saying
, “Did you guys survive the great TikTok blackout of 2025?” Travis didn't bat an eye. Shrugging and grinning, he said,
"Didn't affect me one bit." Straight to the point, no drama—classic Travis.
But that wasn't all. Travis continued to explain that a TikTok ban wouldn't really ruin his life. I mean, come on—he's too cool for school to get ruffled about a social media glitch. Still, if services like YouTube, Spotify, or Wondery+ were suddenly shut down, that would be a huge headache. Why? Well, for one thing, these are the places where the wildly popular podcast put out by the Kelce brothers, "New Heights," has really taken off.
Jason, of course, added his two cents, chiming in with a lighthearted agreement:
"That would be a big bummer for us, for sure." And then, Travis hit us with the punchline we were all waiting for:
"That would mean I'm out of a job." Imagine—no podcast, no content, no fun. What would we all do without the Kelce brothers keeping us entertained?
Travis Kelce On TikTok
Well, for those who don't know, Travis is quite active on TikTok. He has 2.8 million followers on it. His official handle is @TravisKelce where he shares glimpses of his life and humor. So yeah, the blackout might've been a brief hiccup, but it wasn't going to throw off his vibe.
The TikTok blackout happened on January 19, 2025, after a law went into effect requiring TikTok to sever ties with its Chinese parent company, ByteDance. Fortunately, the service was quickly restored on January 20 when President Donald Trump intervened and assured that the ban would be delayed while negotiations continued.
Whereas this scenario of TikTok was making news all over the United States, Travis Kelce was cool as ever and preparing himself for a highly anticipated AFC Championship game against the Buffalo Bills. Throughout the previous postseason games against the Bills, Kelce was a vital playmaker who continuously scored touchdowns and crucial yards. With the day of the highly anticipated AFC Championship being January 28, 2025, fans are on the edge to see what tricks Kelce would have in his bag this time.
