Gisele Bündchen has had a highly successful career in modelling before she tied the knot with NFL legend, Tom Brady. At one point, Gisele Bündchen was one of the highest paid Victoria’s Secret models in the world. Despite the fame and success she had achieved, Gisele Bündchen left Victoria’s Secret due to a very traumatic reason.
Gisele Bündchen had a traumatic reason for ending her contract with the Victoria’s Secret
A couple of years back, in 2018, Gisele Bündchen opened up about the reason for leaving Victoria’s Secret in her memoir Lessons: My Path to a Meaningful Life.
The former Victoria’s Secret supermodel said, “For the first five years, I felt comfortable modelling in lingerie, but as time went on, I felt less and less at ease being photographed walking the runway wearing just a bikini or a thong…”
Gisele Bündchen added, “Give me a tail, a cape, wings - please, anything to cover me up a little!”
So, when in 2006, her contract with the Victoria’s Secret was coming to an end after she had worked under them for 15 years, Gisele Bündchen was pretty stressed.
Gisele Bündchen wrote, “I was at a different place in my life, and I wasn’t sure I wanted to continue working there…”
At the end, Gisele Bündchen ended up not renewing her contract with the Victoria’s Secret and quietly stepped back from the world of modelling.
Gisele Bündchen distanced herself from the world of modelling to focus on her life with Tom Brady and their two children
At this point, Gisele Bündchen had also met Tom Brady and after dating him for a couple of years, the two tied the knot at a lavish ceremony in 2009.
To focus completely on her marital life and her two children with Tom Brady, Gisele Bündchen completely gave up on her modelling career.
However, since the birth of her third child and divorce from Tom Brady, Gisele Bündchen has returned to the world of modelling and seems very content with her life now.
While Tom Brady remains single even three years after their divorce, Gisele Bündchen seems happy in her new life with her boyfriend, Joaquim Valente, as she enjoys her new life with him.
