He said, “I didn’t want to hear from Mike. We don’t want to hear from Ol’ Mike… We wanted to talk to Jen Vrabel because she’s gonna keep it a buck. Where does she stand on this matter?”

Newton also added that the real perspective should come from Vrabel’s wife and not just official statements from the coach. His comments quickly gained traction online as they shifted focus toward Jen Vrabel and the family’s response to the controversy.

Mike Vrabel and Jen Vrabel have been married since the late 1990s after meeting at Ohio State University. They share two sons, Tyler and Carter, who have both pursued sports careers.

Mike Vrabel’s counselling move adds weight to the heated situation

Patriots HC Mike Vrabel addressed reporters in a press setting and called the situation a “personal and private matter,” adding he had difficult conversations with his family and the organisation. However, the actual announcement about counseling did not come during the press conference. It came later through a written statement released to the media via ESPN reporter Mike Reiss.

In his statement, Vrabel mentioned, “As I said the other day, I promised my family, this organisation, and this team that I was going to give them the best version of me that I can possibly give them. In order to do so, I have committed to seeking counseling, starting this weekend,” Vrabel said Wednesday night, according to ESPN. “This is something that I have given a lot of thought to and is something I would advise a player to do if I was counseling them.

In that statement, Vrabel confirmed he will begin counseling starting that weekend. He said he made the decision to become a better husband, father, and coach, and described it as a step he would also advise players to take if needed.
