After celebrating the Eagles' Super Bowl victory parade last week, Amy Rannabargar stumbled upon an old-school Eagles jacket hanging on a light post. But this wasn’t just any piece of fan gear—inside was a taped note with a surprising message.
"If found, do NOT return. This jacket belongs to you!" the note read.
The message revealed that another Eagles fan had discovered the same jacket after the team’s historic first Super Bowl win in 2018. Now, with another championship in the books, they decided to pass it along.
"I found this jacket on the night of the Super Bowl in 2018, and it only felt right to release it back into the city when the Eagles won again," the anonymous writer shared. "Enjoy the jacket. The Eagles pulled off a stunning 40-22 win over the Kansas City Chiefs on Feb. 9, earning their second-ever Super Bowl title. Just like in 2018—when they shocked the New England Patriots—Philly fans went all out to celebrate.
Rannabargar, moved by the unexpected find, took to Facebook to share her experience.
"I found this jacket at the parade on Friday as I was leaving the art museum. I cannot wait to pass this along on the next Super Bowl win," she wrote in an Eagles fan group.
The beauty of this jacket isn’t just in its vintage design, but in the tradition it now carries. Rannabargar has no plans to keep it forever, already promising to "pay it forward" when the Eagles bring home another championship.
For now, the jacket has found a new home, but whenever the Eagles soar to their next Super Bowl victory, you can bet it’ll be waiting for the next lucky fan to carry on the legacy.
