What do you say when you see No. 6 seed win the Super Bowl after defeating No. 1 seed, No. 2 seed, and No. 3 seed? Well, that’s what happened to the Pittsburgh Steelers first in 2005, then to the Green Bay Packers in 2010, and now could happen to the Washington Commanders in 2025!

Commendable season for Commanders
This season has been different for the Washington Commanders. With the unpredictable quarterback Jayden Daniels’ entry, safety Jeremy Reaves' on-the-NFL-ground proposal (isn’t that memorable, too?), and unconquerable scores (12 wins and only 5 losses) all through the road to the Super Bowl.
Tampa Bay is done. Detroit is done. Eagles, you are up
In that road, the Commanders have surpassed two deadly teams: No. 3 seed, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and No. 1 seed, Detroit Lions. What remains is the No. 2 seed, Philadelphia Eagles. The upcoming match against the Philadelphia Eagles is way more important than one can imagine for the Washington Commanders.
The third team with the No. 6 seed: Washington Commanders
This Sunday, on 26th January 2025, if the Commanders vanquish the Eagles, they would be the ‘third team’ with the No. 6 seed to make it to the Super Bowl. The former two teams to have traveled on the same path were the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2005 NFL season and the Green Bay Packers in the 2010 NFL season. Both the Steelers and Packers beat the No. 1 seed, No. 2 seed, and No. 3 seed, like Washington Commanders did and would soon do. But wait, that’s not the only similarity.
Would Washington Commanders also be the third No. 6 seed to take home the Super Bowl title?
The Pittsburgh Steelers and the Green Bay Packers even won the Super Bowl in the same years - 2005 and 2010. If the No. 6 seed can create such a marvelous victory graph towards the Super Bowl, then we can expect the Washington Commanders to win this Super Bowl LIX on February 9, 2025, at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.
