Skip Bayless is not in favour of Lamar Jackson winning the MVP again

The sports commentator and journalist,Bayless stated, “I can make a strong case that Lamar Jackson deserves the MVP, but I don't want him to win again.I want him to win the AFC championship game. I wouldn't mind it if he wins the first Super Bowl. But no MVP when, unfortunately when Lamar is just 2-3 in the playoffs. He has six touchdowns to six interceptions in the playoffs, with three lost fumbles.”

This interpretation showcases Jackson's current postseason record of 2-4 advocating for shared achievements in the playoffs would have greater relevance at this stage of his career rather than claiming another MVP distinction. Bayless has earlier acknowledged favourably of Jackson's proficiency affirming, “There is no quarterback in the NFL I’d rather watch play football than Lamar Jackson. In all my years I have never seen a better baller at quarterback.”

Jackson's impressive regular season statistics have solidified his status as a strong MVP candidate. He became the 1st quarterback in NFL history to surpass 4,000 passing yards and 800 rushing yards in a single season. In the Ravens final regular season game, Jackson threw two touchdown passes, contributing to a decisive 35-10 victory over the Cleveland Browns.

In both seasons, where Jackson was the MVP, the Baltimore Ravens earned the top ranking(14-2) then (13-4) only to be knocked out before the Super Bowl. Responding to questions from reporters during Tuesday's practice,Jackson proclaimed, “I'd just be too excited. That's all. Too antsy.I'm seeing things before it happened like ,’Oh I got to calm myself down’ But just being more experienced I've found a way to balance it out.”

Reflecting on past playoff performances,Jackson acknowledged the need , “to be mistake free” to avoid previous issues . He continued, “The games won with the turnover battle and keeping the ball in your control, moving the ball down the field, getting first downs, putting points on the ball. Obviously that's how you win those games.”

Another discussion during the media briefing focused on the predicted conditions for gameday. As Jackson was raised in warm and sunny Southern Florida,he remains undecided of wearing sleeves. “It probably depends on how cold it is. I feel like I've been doing pretty good with how I've been playing without them,” Jackson mentioned.

Looking ahead, Jackson is preparing for the upcoming playoff matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers have hinted at utilizing backup quarter Justin Fields who has demonstrated dual threat capabilities this season. This strategic move could present a unique challenge for Jackson and the Raven's defense.
