Tyrod Taylor on how he feels about Aaron Rodgers

The New York Jets are looking to move on from Aaron Rodgers, but they also retain veteran quarterback Tyrod Taylor under contract for the 2025 NFL season. Taylor, who was the backup to Rodgers in the 2024 season, comes with much experience to the team.

With more than 10 years in the league, Taylor has established himself as a good and able player. While the Jets are changing quarterbacks, Taylor's experience and leadership will be important as the team seeks to look to the future with him in charge.

"I have nothing but respect for Aaron, he is one of my good friends in this league, and we have only known each other for a year closely," Taylor said to Brizuela. I have nothing but respect for him. He is as talented as it gets, and as stand-up of a person as it gets.”

"Sometimes teams have a different vision about where they want to go. I wasn't in there for that conversation nor did I need to be. I am pretty sure there were discussions had about the team's vision and both parties felt it was best to part ways. I don't think that is a reflection of who he is.”

"I feel great. My body feels great, my arm feels amazing as well. If the opportunity presents itself, I welcome it gladly. I know what I am capable of doing in this league and I have shown it time in and time out. My body still feels fresh and right now I'm currently training for this upcoming season,” he further added about leading the Jets in 2025.

Taylor played as a backup to Joe Flacco at Baltimore and was signed by the Buffalo Bills in 2015. He became the starting quarterback in 2015 and earned a Pro Bowl appearance. In 2017, he helped the Bills win their first playoff berth in 18 years.

Taylor was traded to the Cleveland Browns in 2018, and he played for the Browns, Chargers, Texans, and Giants, but was sidelined due to injuries four times. He was replaced by rookies Baker Mayfield, Justin Herbert, Davis Mills, and Tommy DeVito.
