“I think they’re so over him,” Sharpe said, pointing to what he believes is a breakdown of trust between player and team. The former All-Pro referenced Richardson’s much-discussed “tap out” moment from last season, when the quarterback briefly removed himself from a game citing fatigue - an incident that continues to follow him.

Sharpe’s criticism centered less on scheme or stats and more on mindset. In his era, quarterbacks were expected to endure everything the game demanded.

“I’ve never ever seen or heard of a quarterback tapping himself out and coming out because he was tired,” Sharpe said. “You quit on your team.”
