Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice’s mother was accused of stealing vinyl records off her neighbor's porch

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice was injured in the game vs. Los Angeles Chargers. What his mom Marsha Kearney got herself into, though, while the Rice family watched their weekend get a bit out of hand, is simply bizarre. TMZ obtained Ring doorbell footage of Kearney taking a neighbor's package, said to contain two limited edition Chappell Roan vinyl records inside. The video went viral, adding an unexpected twist to the Rice family's weekend.

Rashee Rice's mother accused of stealing neighbor's Chappell Roan records

Rashee Rice's mother allegedly stole a package from the front porch of one of the neighbors, whose name has not been released as yet. The incident was recorded by a Ring camera at the Texas apartment where they reside. A video TMZ published caught her in a No. 4 jersey, the number Rice sports for the Chiefs, reportedly trying to steal a package that falls within the scope of the Ring camera. Then, she slowed down and looked at the camera, so she found her package inside the frame.

Rice's mother wearing a jersey with the name "Momma-Rice," was filmed picking up a cardboard box allegedly containing two Chappell Roan albums. The neighbors said the package contained the albums, in which Marsha Kearney was filmed picking them up. Still, neither Rice nor his mother has publicly commented on the issue. A report on the incident was filed with local authorities earlier this week.

The footage was taken on September 29, the day Rice suffered injuries while playing with his team against the Los Angeles Chargers. Kansas City won 17-10, securing their fourth consecutive win of the 2024 season. The defending Super Bowl champions aim to be the first to achieve three consecutive Super Bowl victories in NFL history.

Rice's status for Saturday is unknown right now with his possible ACL damage and the distraction created by the accusation of theft by his mother. The situation surrounding Kearney will only appear cloudy for as long as the investigation into the missing vinyl records persists. The Chiefs are in for weeks where Rice and the situation off the field will be missing, and possibly uncertain.
