Jason Garrett is trying something new while his TV future remains unclear. The former Dallas Cowboys head coach has stepped into the restaurant business with a new cafe in Dallas. He shared the news with fans and friends from the football world. The opening quickly grabbed attention because questions continued around his role at NBC. Instead of waiting for clarity, Garrett has chosen to build something outside television.
The event felt more like a Cowboys reunion. Former players and team figures showed up to support him. Garrett focused on the energy of the night and the people around him. His message stayed simple and personal.
The business move now adds a fresh direction amid the broadcast speculation.
Jason Garrett opens Dallas cafe as questions linger over NBC role
Jason Garrett announced the opening of Caffe Lucca through an Instagram post from the launch party. He shared photos from inside the venue and described the mood of the night. “Helluva night at Caffe Lucca! Opening Cocktail Party! Quite a buzz! Loved the vibe!” Garrett wrote on Instagram while celebrating the opening.
He also thanked the staff and partners in the same post. “Special thanks to the entire @caffeluccadallas team for all the hard work to make it happen.
Chef Enrique and staff did an incredible job with the food. Arancini and the Umami Burger were incredible,” Garrett added.
The Dallas café marks Garrett’s entry into the hospitality industry. He teamed up with restaurateur Julian Barsotti and former
NFL quarterback Babe Laufenberg. The opening drew several familiar names.
Dak Prescott, Zack Martin, Sean Lee, Michael Irvin, and Russell Maryland attended. Former Cowboys figures Drew Pearson, Daryl Johnston, and Mark Stepnoski also showed support. Visitors shared their reactions online.
Texas high school football coach Daniel Novakov also visited the cafe with his wife, Sarah Novakov. Sarah posted a video from inside the restaurant and called it “the most charming new restaurant.” She thanked Garrett and the team while giving fans a quick look at the space.
The move comes while Garrett’s NBC role remains uncertain. He currently works as a game analyst and appears on Football Night in America. Networks often refresh their lineup, and his long-term spot has not been confirmed. That has fueled talk about what comes next.
Garrett has not addressed the speculation. Still, the café launch shows he is exploring another path. With strong support from the Cowboys circle, his latest move already has momentum behind it.
