“My butt look better”: Jason Kelce preferred wearing a jockstrap over compression shorts as he liked the way it made him look

In an episode of New Heights, a podcast hosted by Jason Kelce and his brother Travis Kelce, the duo discussed why athletes stop wearing jock straps when a caller inquired about their preference for a jockstrap over compression shorts. The two brothers tried to delve into the aesthetic appeal of protective genital gear.

In the latest episode, the Kelce brothers discussed protective genital gear during a podcast episode discussing why players stopped wearing jock straps. “What happened to the jock strap is they invented compression shorts, and they're just way more efficient at holding everything in place and better,” Jason said about the tight-fitting garment that’s worn under their football uniforms.

“It eliminates the chafing that could possibly go on,” Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis added, sharing that with a jock strap, you have to powder your genitals and "your thighs every f—ing day." Jason then shared that he wasn't so quick to make the switch. “I still wore the jockstrap. There's something I liked about the jockstrap,” he said. “I only wore it on game day, though, And I would walk around the locker room making my pre-[game] workout in nothing but my jock strap, and I thought it was funny.”


As Travis began laughing, Jason continued, “So maybe that's the reason I wore it, but I also thought it, like, cupped my butt cheek nice and it made my butt look better.” “I didn't realize you were going for a nice look of your—” Travis began, but his brother cut him off, saying, “I needed help because I don't have a great ass.”

Travis joked about the change from jockstraps, which were originally used to hold up cups, to compression shorts, which now make the use of the jockstrap unnecessary. Both brothers acknowledged the importance of proper support during work.
