LeBron James praises Matthew Stafford

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford isn't giving up on the 2024 season despite a dismal start to the year. Injuries and a 1-4 record hadn't seemed to get the Rams out of their slump, but three straight wins have put them back in the NFC West fight. On Sunday, he was decisive in the win over the Seattle Seahawks with 298 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. The performance was appreciated by NBA player LeBron James, who praised the last touchdown. “WOW!!!!!! MATTHEW STAFFORD A BEAST!!!” James wrote on Twitter.

Demarcus Robinson, a veteran wide receiver for the Los Angeles Rams, recorded a season-best 94 yards and two touchdowns in a 26-20 overtime win against the Seattle Seahawks. However, his impressive performance was largely due to the outstanding performance of quarterback Matthew Stafford. According to ESPN's Sarah Barshop, citing Elias Sports Bureau, "Matthew Stafford’s game-winner today was his 13th career game-winning touchdown pass in the final two minutes of the 4th quarter or overtime. That broke a tie with Dan Marino for the second-most since the 1970 merger, trailing only Tom Brady's 14.”

In Week 8, Stafford surpassed Marino for ninth on the NFL's all-time completions list. In Week 8, he posted 298 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception against the Seahawks. His performance improved when All-Pro wide receiver Cooper Kupp and second-year star wide receiver Puka Nacua returned. Nacua was ejected in the second quarter, but Kupp finished with 11 catches for 104 yards. The Rams have won three consecutive games, advancing to the NFC playoff race, while Los Angeles is tied with San Francisco (4-4), and Arizona (5-4) atop the NFC West.
