With the 2025 NFL season underway, college students can take advantage of out-of-market Sunday games for a fraction of the normal price. The NFL Sunday Ticket Student Plan from YouTube gives eligible students a budget-friendly option to access the full Sunday experience.
This plan allows students to tune in to live broadcasts of their favorite teams when they are outside of the local coverage area. Not only does this offer the added perk of streaming games with a little bit more freedom about which devices to use, but it's also great for dorms, apartments, or while you're on the road. This is as easy and as cheap as it gets for college sports fans to keep up with every exhilarating minute of the NFL this season.
Overview of the NFL Sunday Ticket student plan
The NFL Sunday Ticket Student Plan gives students access to stream every out-of-market Sunday afternoon game (as long as it airs on CBS and FOX) via YouTube. Although this plan does not include local, nationally televised, preseason, and postseason games. The plan costs $119 and covers the full 2025–26 season. Students can also add NFL RedZone for $10, bringing the total to $129.
The plan comes with multiview (four games at once), replay of key plays, and works across devices. It is only for one device and one device at a time.
How students can qualify and sign up
To be eligible for the student discount, you must:
- Be 18 years of age or older,
- Be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university,
- Verify your student status through SheerID during the sign-up process.
A verification step asking for full name, email, date of birth, and institution has also been added as a step. A personal email address is preferably used for verification as. edu accounts may have restrictions.
Once verified, you can purchase the plan directly through YouTube. The subscription is a one-time purchase and does not automatically renew for the next season.

The student discount is a huge deal compared to standard NFL Sunday Ticket packages, which start at $480 for returning users or $276 for new users when bundled with YouTube TV. This is, in fact, a great way for your college kids to experience the NFL season without the financial burden.
