The Indianapolis Colts have experienced a pretty tough time on the field in the last two seasons with 8 wins and 9 losses consecutively.
As the last season’s poor performance marked the team’s fifth season without a playoff appearance, it has sparked concern among many. Amid this, all eyes are on the team’s roster ahead of the new season.
Indianapolis Colts might make a move for the former New England Patriots star player Stefon Diggs
A few days ago, USA Today’s Nate Davis predicted that the Indianapolis Colts could make a move for the former New England Patriots’ popular wide receiver, Stefon Diggs, after his exceptional performance on the field in the last season.
USA Today’s Nate Davis noted in a recent report, “With more than $25 million in their cap coffers, a team that may be in win-now mode – at least as it applies to GM Chris Ballard, coach Shane Steichen and even (to some degree) QB Daniel Jones – might also consider taking a flier on Diggs.”
USA Today’s Nate Davis added, “Alec Pierce may now be making No. 1 wide receiver money, but he has yet to prove he can fulfill the role on the field.”
USA Today’s Nate Davis continued, “And with Michael Pittman now in Pittsburgh, Diggs could be a more appealing complementary option than Josh Downs or Nick Westbrook-Ikhine.”
However, the Indianapolis Colts have not officially weighed in on the trade talks concerning Stefon Diggs.
Ever since the New England Patriots released Stefon Diggs in February 2025, the 32 year old wide receiver has been linked to many rival teams.
There have also been strong rumors of the Patriots re-signing Stefon Diggs for the upcoming season but nothing has been confirmed yet.
While the 2024 season was a tough one for Stefon Diggs as he sustained a brutal ACL tear, the popular wide receiver bounced back on the field in the next season after he signed a $63 million deal with the New England Patriots.
In the last season, across 17 regular-season games, Stefon Diggs recorded 85 receptions for 1,013 yards and 4 touchdowns. He also added 14 catches for 110 yards and one touchdown in 4 postseason games.
Despite his exceptional performance on the field, Stefon Diggs remains a free agent as all eyes are on where he ends up next.
