The wide receiver class continues to reshape draft conversations as teams finalize their boards. One prospect, in particular, has seen a steady rise through the process and is now drawing serious attention across the league.

That momentum now centers on Omar Cooper Jr., who is being linked to both the Baltimore Ravens and the Cleveland Browns in current NFL trade rumors. His recent meetings with multiple teams, including these two franchises, highlight how his stock has climbed at the right time.

For the Baltimore Ravens, the logic is about adding balance. Zay Flowers remains the clear No. 1 option, but the offence still needs another reliable target to ease defensive pressure. Cooper’s ability to line up both in the slot and outside gives Baltimore flexibility, especially when defences key in on Flowers.


On the other hand, the Cleveland Browns' situation looks more urgent. The Browns are widely viewed as one of the weakest teams at the wide receiver position heading into the draft. That reality makes their interest in Cooper more direct. With two first-round picks, including No. 6 and No. 24, Cleveland has multiple paths to address the need, whether early or later in the round.

After a modest start to his college career, he broke out in his final season with 69 receptions for 937 yards and 13 touchdowns while earning second-team All-Big Ten honors. He also forced 27 missed tackles, the highest among receivers in this class, showing his ability to create after the catch.



The star's efficiency stood out even earlier. In a smaller role, he averaged 21.2 yards per catch and scored seven touchdowns on just 28 receptions, which highlighted his big-play ability before his expanded role.


Evaluators have taken notice. Daniel Jeremiah ranked him No. 17 among prospects, while Dane Brugler placed him at No. 22. Some teams even view him as the second-best receiver in this class.


That combination of production, versatility, and rising evaluations explains why these trade rumors hold weight. The Baltimore Ravens could target him as a complementary piece, while the Cleveland Browns may see him as a needed offensive upgrade.
