The post reads, “49ers free-agent wide receiver Jauan Jennings is visiting tonight and Wednesday with the Minnesota Vikings, per source.”


The need is obvious. The Minnesota Vikings rely heavily on Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison. However, the depth behind them looks thin after Jalen Nailor left for the Las Vegas Raiders in free agency. He finished 2025 tied for the team lead with four touchdowns.


Plus, Jennings brings size and production. He stands 6-foot-3 and weighs around 210 pounds, offering a different profile than Minnesota’s current starters. In 2025, he recorded 55 catches for 643 yards and nine touchdowns. A year earlier, he posted 77 receptions for 975 yards and six scores across 15 games. Those numbers show steady growth and reliability.


There is also competition in the market. Barry Jackson reported in the Miami Herald earlier in April that the Miami Dolphins have tracked Jennings “since the start of free agency.” However, he added they “don’t have the money to meet his contractual wishes.”


Timing could play a role here. Several teams are expected to gain cap flexibility after June 1 roster adjustments. That could expand Jennings’ options and give him more leverage as he weighs offers. Minnesota, meanwhile, has positioned itself to act quickly if needed.
