Myles Garrett was traded from his parent franchise, the Cleveland Browns, to the Los Angeles Rams on June 1, 2026.
This comes as a screaming shock to Browns fans, who somehow feel that his girlfriend, Chloe Kim, had something to do with it.
Myles Garrett’s trade to Rams could be linked to Olympic medalist Chloe Kim
Who knew what started as a red carpet-y romance could turn into something like a full-blown NFL trade? Even though other people are involved in the trade.
Even though there is logistics behind ---
The Cleveland Browns traded their 9-year veteran defensive end, Myles Garrett, to the Matthew Stafford-led, Super Bowl-hungry Los Angeles Rams.
Everything seems to come to a full stop. Especially when there is love involved.
Myles Garrett’s budding romance with Olympic gold medalist snowboarder Chloe Kim is under scrutiny for being the focal point of the blockbuster ‘After June 1’ trade.
Actually, it could have been a win-win situation for the defensive end. Where there is love, there is a way.
He is desperately looking for a Super Bowl contender; he found it in the Sean McVay-led Los Angeles Rams. Los Angeles is his girlfriend Chloe Kim’s native.
So, why not go to a place where you could have both? Love and job. That’s what probably made him choose LA.
An X account called “EvoRelic” wrote, “A big Browns trade factor is Myles Garrett’s girlfriend, Olympic snowboarder Chloe Kim, who lives in Los Angeles, California.
The Rams’ NFL stadium [SoFi Stadium] is just 25 minutes from Chloe’s home [Torrance - where she grew up and was raised].
Plus, the Browns unload Myles, an older player turning 31 [in this December] with more frequent injuries and a very expensive, massive contract.
In return, Browns get a young 25-year-old Pro Bowl Defense Edge Rusher, Jared Verse, plus 1st round pick, 2nd, 3rd round picks - Smart Trade by Brown’s GM, Andrew Berry.”
Another by the name “Nikki” wrote, “Chloe Kim, I can’t prove it, but I know you had something to do with this [Adam Schefter’s post on Myles Garrett and Jared Verse trade].”
Even FOX Sports’ NFL analyst Robert Griffin III joined the fans…
Robert Griffin III explains why Myles Garrett won against Cleveland Browns
Myles Garrett requested a trade in the 2025 offseason because he wanted to play for a Super Bowl contender.
But instead, the Cleveland Browns chose to keep him and sign him to a massive contract --- a four-year, $160 million deal with $123 million in guaranteed money.
This did not sit well with many fans, who criticized Garrett for choosing money over contention.
Come 2026 offseason? His 2025 trade request is accepted. And he gets traded to a Super Bowl-contender team; the Los Angeles Rams.
This comes with a cherry-on-top situation. He is still under the same contract since the trade happened after June 1.
And he gets to spend his free time in Los Angeles with his Olympian girlfriend, Chloe Kim.
Robert Griffin III called this scenario --- chess, not checkers. Chess focuses on the future, whereas checkers focuses on the present.
Garrett thought about his future more than his present… this offseason!
And we cannot wait to see how he’ll mold in the LA facility. With
Matthew Stafford, Puka Nacua, Davante Adams, and company.
