NFL Insider Adam Schefter shared the good news X that “Jets are giving new head coach Aaron Glen a five-year deal,” On hearing that, Former DE for the New York Giants, Chris Canty on ESPN’s UNSPORTSMANLIKE shed light on why he loved the idea of Aaron Glenn for the New York Jets - back in January 2025.

He’s no-nonsense, straightforward, feisty, not afraid to be contentious, and going to set the bar higher when it comes to accountability in that franchise.”

A team will suffer when there’s a clash between the head coach (the one who leads the team inside the changing room) and the quarterback (the one who leads the team on the gridiron). And so, the Jets fell to a 5-12 in the 2024 NFL season. Aaron Rodgers even blamed himself, “There are 11 guys on the field. Sometimes it's my fault, and sometimes the details aren’t there in other spots.”

Bill Parcells was a major part of the New York Jets. He was behind the 12-4 AFC Championship. If Aaron Glenn could bring even an iota of Bill Parcells’ magic to the locker room of the Jets, it would be wonderful to watch them in the playoffs next season!
