Currently, Rob has a studio analyst gig with Fox. He also maintains close relations with his former teammates from the New England Patriots. Julian Edelman, a former wide receiver of the New England Patriots, hosted two “Games with Names” live shows at Boston’s historic Wilbur Theatre on last Friday. Rob, his fellow girlfriend Camille Kostek and fellow ex-New England Patriot teammate Danny Amendola were among those present at the live shows.
Rob Gronkowski has not lost his connection with sports even though he has retired from footballEveryone is aware of the bond and friendship that Rob shares with Edelman. Both of them were Tom Brady’s favourite passing targets during the second half of the Foxboro Dynasty. Rob and Edelman were crucial contributors in the playoffs with Edelman gaining a reputation for developing for making clutch plays when the stakes were high.
Together, Rob and Edelman won 3 Superbowls amid 5 appearances (XLIX, LI and LII). This also led them to develop a close bond and friendship with each other.
In January, Rob discussed this extensively with PEOPLE where he spoke about the bond he shares with Edelman and how it has developed over the years.
“We actually met each other off the field at an autograph signing. From there, that night we went out together and that's when we officially really became wingmen for life. We went to a club called Splash. I was dancing all over the place. Julian was being Julian, and that's when our friendship and our wingman-type of style hit it off together,” Rob said.
Edelman for his part also added the first time he met Rob, “The one thing (the coaching staff) said about Gronk is, ‘You're going to love this guy.’ And it was exactly true. He came in and was like a big teddy bear that scored a bunch of touchdowns... He was a rock star.” Edelman also added about their bond in their post-retirement phase saying, “We see each other at work in the green rooms and we watch the games. We'll cross over when he does his show, and he'll sometimes have segments on our show.”
