NEW DELHI: Simone Biles, the decorated gymnast and Olympic champion, and her NFL star husband, Jonathan Owens, recently shared details about their unconventional love story on "The Pivot" podcast, shedding light on their first encounter and the unique circumstances that brought them together.The newlyweds, who exchanged vows in April, recounted their initial meeting in 2020 on the dating app Raya. Owens, a 28-year-old safety for the Green Bay Packers, reminisced about swiping right when Biles's profile piqued his curiosity, despite his limited knowledge of gymnastics.“I had never really paid attention to gymnastics, so it piqued my curiosity," Owens revealed during the podcast. He went on to share that after discovering they were a match, he returned from the gym to find Biles had checked out his Instagram page.Revealing his initial skepticism, Owens said, “‘Man, this gotta be fake.’ I didn’t know who she was at the time. But like, the first thing that I saw was that she just had a bunch of followers. So in my mind, I’m like, ‘OK, she’s got to be good.’”Biles, a 26-year-old gymnastics sensation, also admitted to making the first move, messaging Owens with a casual "hey." However, spending time together quickly changed his perspective. "We hung out, man, it was like we hit it off instantly.
