T.J. Watt, the fearsome linebacker for the Pittsburgh Steelers, has once again etched his name into the NFL history books. With a relentless pursuit of quarterbacks, Watt has reached a remarkable milestone. On Sunday night, during a clash against the Dallas Cowboys, Watt successfully tackled Dak Prescott, bringing his career sack total to an impressive 100. This achievement places him among the elite pass rushers in the league's history.

Steelers Star T.J. Watt Achieves 100 Sacks Milestone, Second-Fastest Player to Reach the Feat

This accomplishment came in a crucial moment when Watt, with help from teammate Nick Herbig, took down Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott in the second quarter. Although they shared the sack, the play ended with Watt dislodging Prescott's helmet and causing a fumble, which Herbig recovered, shifting the momentum in the Steelers’ favor.

This landmark sack marked Watt’s 100th in just 109 career games, making him the second-fastest player in NFL history to achieve this feat. His rapid ascent to the top of the sack leaderboard places him ahead of Hall of Famer DeMarcus Ware, who needed 113 games to hit the same milestone. Only Reggie White, a fellow Hall of Famer, accomplished it faster, reaching 100 sacks in just 96 games. Watt’s knack for terrorizing quarterbacks has been on full display this season, with the linebacker registering a sack in every game so far, including five consecutive games dating back to last season's finale.

Watt’s performance on Sunday was more than just a stat-padding moment. It was a proof to his Hall of Fame trajectory, as the 29-year-old is clearly in the prime of his career. His six Pro Bowl selections and 2021 NFL Defensive Player of the Year award further underscore his elite status. Moreover, his achievement is even more significant as it places him and his brother, J.J. Watt, in a unique spot in NFL history. They are the only siblings to each record 100 sacks, solidifying the Watt family's legacy in the league.

Though T.J. still trails J.J., who finished his career with 114.5 sacks (24th on the all-time list), it seems plausible that he could catch up to his brother by the end of this season. T.J.'s single-season record of 22.5 sacks in 2021, tied for the most ever, shows his relentless pursuit of greatness. For Watt, this latest milestone is just another chapter in a career full of extraordinary accomplishments, and it’s likely that more records will fall as the season progresses.
