The latest development came late on January 10, when Boston 25 confirmed that Stefon Diggs’ arraignment had been postponed. His lawyers requested the delay, moving the hearing from January 23 to February 13, 2026. The new date falls five days after Super Bowl LX, scheduled for February 8.

Diggs faces a felony charge of strangulation or suffocation linked to an alleged incident on December 2, 2025. The accusation surfaced one day after the Patriots defeated the New York Giants. A former personal chef accused Diggs of striking her during a dispute over payment and attempting to choke her.

Hours after the court update became public, Stephanie Diggs, his mom, posted on Instagram on January 11. Addressing the past few weeks, she wrote, “These past few weeks have been rough, but we all got��.” She added, “Proud of my sons. Wild Card Weekend, let’s go.” The post appeared alongside images of both Stefon Diggs and his younger son, Trevon Diggs, of the Green Bay Packers.



Stephanie has remained a constant presence in her sons’ lives since their father passed away in January 2008. Her message struck a personal tone at a moment when football pressure met legal uncertainty.

Diggs responded to the allegations earlier through his attorney, David Meier. In a statement released to WBZ on January 5, Meier said the claims did not occur and lacked evidence. He said the timing followed an unresolved employer-employee financial dispute and stated Diggs intends to establish the truth in court.

On January 6, the Patriots issued a formal response. In a statement shared by ESPN reporter Mike Reiss, the team said it supports Diggs, will continue gathering information, and will cooperate with authorities and the NFL while the matter remains ongoing.

With the arraignment delayed and no immediate league action announced, the Patriots turn their attention to the Los Angeles Chargers this weekend at Gillette Stadium. Still, Stephanie Diggs’ words made one thing clear. Behind the playoff push, the weeks have not been easy, and February now holds answers that January could not.
