Razor sharp throws. Quick time throws. Perfect throws. The second year of Shedeur Sanders looks way more promising than ever!
NFL fans will finally get to see what Colorado fans are all crazy about: Shedeur Sanders.
Shedeur Sanders’ OTA practice screams QB1 competition winning factor against Deshaun Watson in Cleveland
News 5 Cleveland WEWS reporter Camryn Justice shared 2-minute-long footage from Wednesday’s OTA practice of Cleveland Browns players.
It featured Shedeur Sanders throwing perfect throws to receivers. He’s reading defenses quickly.
He’s throwing quickly. He’s holding the ball very little comparatively. And the throws cannot be intercepted by anyone but his receivers.
That’s what the Cleveland Browns want in their quarterback. In their starting quarterback. Yes, this is a battle between two: Deshaun Watson vs. Shedeur Sanders.
But if this goes on, the coaches and the front office staff are sure to hand over the coveted QB1 crown to Shedeur Sanders.
Just for the sheer impeccable degree of perfection. Even fans noticed it.
One wrote, “Shedeur looks sharp! Because he’s QB1.” Another said, “He clearly put the work in… that’s a starting level QB!”
A user compared Sanders to his QB1 role competitor: “Deshaun Watson can’t pass like that.”
A user went on to compare him to the NFL legend Tom Brady: “He has a little bit of Brady in the release and footwork.”
Jerry Jeudy is still dropping passes
Even if Sanders’ passes were almost perfect and moderately quick, the receivers, particularly Jerry Jeudy, dropped quite a few, and this came to the fans’ notice…
“Man, why tf Jeudy still dropping the f**k**g ball,” said one.
Another expressed, “Jeudy is already in mid-season form.” A user wrote, “All these dropped balls that were good.”
Cleveland coach Todd Monken is still not revealing starter
Even on Wednesday, Cleveland Browns head coach Todd Monken did not declare who would take up the QB1 role.
The former Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator complimented both Shedeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson: “We have two starting-level quarterbacks. We really do.”
After weeks of favoring Deshaun Watson -- especially after Browns beat reporter Mary Kay Cabot openly declared him her favorite for the QB1 spot -- a new reporter has emerged who is choosing the opposite: Sanders.
Brownie points for Shedeur Sanders
After Wednesday’s OTA practice, Browns reporter Ashley Bastock said, “Sanders certainly did more than Deshaun today.
He had the throw of the day. This was undeniably the practice where we just saw Shedeur Sanders getting more opportunities with the ones.”
This could be the turning of the tide... that moment where the momentum shifts, changing the course of everything that follows.
Long story short: The last few weeks were Deshaun Watson praising. From this week onward, it could be Shedeur Sanders’ turn to be praised.
But then the OTAs don’t lie. He’s showing results. He’s making reporters and fans talk about his plays. That’s some QB1 pointer!
Still, we cannot wait to know who’ll win the competition…right now, just one thing is probably confirmed… Dillon Gabriel could be a backup.
