"There's love in the air": Josh Allen’s engagement to Hailee Steinfeld tied to Bills’ resurgence, says teammate Dion Dawkins

The Buffalo Bills are rolling right now, and it seems like love is their secret ingredient. Josh Allen, their electric quarterback, has lent much credence to the Bills' phenomenal run towards the playoffs while his recently concluded engagement with actress Hailee Steinfeld seems to have ushered him into an entirely different gear. Nothing done between Allen and the San Francisco 49ers was anything other than spectacular historic performance: He became the very first quarterback in the history of the NFL to throw, catch and rush for a touchdown in just one outing. Such an incredible feat seems to cement Allen's position as one of the most talented and versatile players in the league.

Hailee Steinfeld’s Influence on Josh Allen

The Buffalo Bills are pumping celebratory gases after a gigantic win over the San Francisco 49ers in a score of 35-10 in an epic "Sunday Night Football" and also winning the fifth consecutive AFC East title. The credit for the victory goes to the quarterback Josh Allen, who gave a remarkable performance not only saving them but also making his name in the NFL history.

While playing for the game, Allen made history by being the first quarterback in the history of NFL to throw, catch, and run for a touchdown on the same match. This stupendous achievement has enriched his already impressive history as he left the great number of 248 touch downs to finish the career in his name, bringing him past Bills great Jim Kelly for the best in franchise history.


He also earned Allen AFC Offensive Player of the Week honors by completing 13 of 17 passes for 148 yards and two touchdown passes for the standout performance. In addition, he rushed three times for 18 yards, including one touchdown, and caught one seven-yard receiving touchdown on his own pass. Such display of versatility and leadership has further strengthened the Bills' commanding position in the division.

To make Allen's achievement even more memorable, it came just a couple of days after he announced his engagement to actress Hailee Steinfeld. His personal life has had an upturn for sure and seems to be positively impacting his performance.

Bills offensive tackle and 2024 Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee Dion Dawkins offered a humorous perspective when asked about the motivating factors behind the team's success this year. The comment, however, did not mention Steinfeld by name, but Dawkins probably made reference when he said there is a noticeable difference in Allen physically as well as mentally after the Oscar-nominated actress came into his life.

"It's drastically different, our quarterback is engaged. It's drastically different, there's love in the air, man," Dawkins joked, before clarifying that there is, in fact, truth to that statement.


"We all stem from the head," he continued. "[Allen] touches that ball every single play. And not to say anything bad that ever happened was because of anything, that's not what I'm saying. But when he is fully right and he feels fully complete, we have the best shot of winning. ... You can see how he smiles, you can see how he is on interviews. You can see how he is running on and off of the field. You can feel how he's playing. ... That's what's different. It stems from 17, and the rest trickles down."

"I want to be the best version for him because he has shown me the best version of Josh Allen, currently," the tackle finished. "And next year it will change to a better version. And every year so forth after that."
