Raiders' Maxx Crosby addresses trade rumors amidst team struggles

The rumors suggest that Maxx Crosby might be on his way out, possibly to the Detroit Lions. On Tuesday's episode of "The Rush Podcast," Crosby felt compelled to address the rumors directly, sharing his thoughts on how unsettling the situation had become. He expressed frustration at the baseless speculation, stating, “Honestly, it’s crazy, bro. Last year, there was some trade talk.” Crosby pointed out that while trade talk existed before, it wasn't taken seriously at first, but now it feels as though "they’ve started a whole pandemonium, a revolution."

Having been with the Raiders for six years, Crosby has emerged as one of the franchise’s standout players, delivering consistent performances. His loyalty to the team has never wavered, which he made clear on the podcast. “I know it’s a business, I know I don’t have 100 percent control, but I want to be here… I want to be a Raider,” Crosby affirmed emphatically. His plea to remain in silver and black reflects his deep connection to the franchise, despite the chaos surrounding him.

"I'm sitting here innocently doing what I do. I feel like I have to address it with my teammates," Crosby said (28:00 mark). "I'm like, 'I'm not trying to leave,' you know what I mean? I know it's a business, I know I don't have 100 percent control, but I want to be here, I want to be in silver and black. I'll say it loud and clear I want to be a Raider... Just seeing all the craziness, it's been f--ing insane... What the f--k has this turned into?"

Crosby’s performance this season has been nothing short of spectacular, with six-and-a-half sacks and 23 tackles so far. He is on track for a career-high in sacks, building on the momentum from last year when he recorded a personal best of 14.5 sacks. Despite his individual success, the Raiders have struggled, sitting at a disappointing 2-5 after seven games.

As the team prepares for a challenging matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs, the focus remains on whether these trade rumors will impact Crosby’s play or the Raiders' overall morale. For now, the star pass rusher has made it clear—he wants to stay in Las Vegas.
