Montreal scored four goals in a span of 5:18 to blow the game wide open and erase memories of their previous nine consecutive losses in Boston. Zachary Bolduc started the onslaught by collecting a Nick Suzuki rebound. Bruins coach Marco Sturm challenged for goalie interference but lost, putting Montreal on the power play with a one-goal lead.
Boston's penalty trouble continued from there. The Canadiens capitalized on back-to-back five-on-three opportunities. Cole Caufield buried the first before Suzuki batted the second out of the air to give Montreal a commanding 5-2 advantage.

Lane Hutson continues making history with Montreal Canadiens
The defenseman now has 13 assists in his last eight games. No defenseman in the entire league has tallied more assists in the calendar year of 2025, including Cale Makar. The production represents a remarkable stretch for the 20-year-old.
Noah Dobson also contributed three assists in the victory, giving Montreal's blue line six points on the night. The game featured plenty of extracurricular activities beyond the lopsided scoreline. Referees handed out 68 penalty minutes between both clubs as tempers flared throughout.
Josh Anderson and Tanner Jeannot dropped the gloves right off the opening faceoff, settling scores from their previous meeting. Zadorov and Arber Xhekaj followed eight minutes later with another fight.
Jacob Fowler made 26 saves to earn the victory. The Canadiens now enter the holiday break having won their final game before the Christmas pause.
