More than a year after the devastating loss of NHL star Johnny Gaudreau, his wife Meredith Gaudreau continues to navigate life with resilience and love for the family they built together. The tragedy occurred just days before their sister’s wedding, leaving their family shattered.

Speaking recently, Meredith shared the emotional challenges of going through her third pregnancy without Johnny by her side. “I went through the entire pregnancy without him. I was really nervous to give birth without him, too,” Meredith said, via 10TV’s Nicole Shearin.
Despite her fears, she welcomed their son, Carter Michael Gaudreau, on April 1. She revealed the moving detail that Carter weighed and measured exactly the same as Johnny did at birth."There was some gut feeling I had that it was going to be a boy, and he looks exactly like John, so he almost like when I saw him for the first time, he was kind of exactly what I pictured," she shared.

Keeping Johnny Gaudreau’s memory alive through love and connection

Meredith has made it her mission to keep Johnny’s presence alive for their children, saying she plays old videos and shows them photos of their father. “My boys are too young to even understand, but Johnny will light up pictures of him, and I'll play videos. John's voice around Carter kind of lights up,” she said.
She also explained how she tells them their father is “in heaven,” ensuring his legacy remains a positive part of their lives. Meredith continues to receive heartfelt support from Johnny’s former teammates: “Whether guys on this team had played with John for years or hadn’t played with him at all, yet they come to my kids’ birthday parties. They skate around with the kids when we’re at team skates.”Also Read: “Can’t do their jobs”: NHL fans furious as Tyler Myers escapes suspension for shocking slash on Connor McDavidThrough grief and gratitude, Meredith Gaudreau stands as a symbol of courage, honoring her late husband’s memory while nurturing the love he left behind on and off the ice.
