The Mammoth, who were at home, beat the New York Islanders 7-2, which was a difficult Thursday afternoon. Although the scoreboard indicated a tough night for the Islanders, the match was marred by the injury of a forward, Bo Horvat. The young center had just gotten back on the ice after a lower-body injury earlier in the month and left the ice with a preference to his leg and was unable to come back to the ice for the rest of the game. The departure of Horvat was caused by a collision with a defenseman of Utah, Durzi, in the red line, and a clumsy fall. At the end of the game, Islanders head coach Patrick Roy took the newspaper at its word and told reporters that Horvat would be assessed by doctors on the team, and there was no clear news as to the extent of the injury. This is especially distressing based on the timeline, considering Horvat was recently included on the list of Team Canada to compete in the 2026 Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics.

Injury report on Bo Horvat after Islanders and Mammoth game

Horvat registered 16:43 of ice time, leaving without a point. He has 21 goals and 12 assists in 36 games this season and is the top scorer in the Islanders. His loss was felt instantly as the Mammoth took advantage of several chances, one of which was three goals in the second period and four in the third.
Dylan Guenther got his first NHL hat trick, Nick Schmaltz had two more, and Mikhail Sergachev made the power play. The Islanders have now resorted to counting on their next match against the Toronto Maple Leafs with a lot of care on the recovery of Horvat. Also Read: Net worth of Auston Matthews in 2025: Details on Vegas Golden Knights captain's earnings, salary, and contracts
