But the biggest opportunity for him came in July 2021 when the Panthers acquired him from the Sabres after offering Devon Levi and a first-round pick in a trade. Zito was quick to sign him up on a three-year, $19.5 million deal with an AAV of $6.5 million.

Across these three years, he helped change the franchise from playoff hopefuls to genuine championship contenders. By 2024, Reinhart had a massive $69 million deal to his name. With Florida being a tax haven and much of his salary being performance bonuses, the center has been able to preserve much of his acquired wealth.

While his playoff run wasn’t as sensational, with just 16 points across 24 games, he scored the clutch goal in game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals as Florida edged past the Edmonton Oilers. But the 2025 Stanley Cup saw him get even better as he delivered one of the best individual performances in playoff history.

In Game 6 of the 2025 Finals against the Oilers, Reinhart scored four goals to take the win for his team and repeat a feat that hadn’t been done since 1957, when NHL legend Maurice Richard scored four goals in that year’s finals.

With his four goals being the only playoff hat trick in Panthers history, the young center has already immortalized himself in Florida.
