NEW DELHI: Hockey players Lalit Upadhyay and Rajkumar Pal were felicitated by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday for their contributions to India's bronze medal victory at the Paris Olympics.

The felicitation ceremony took place in Ghazipur, where CM Yogi also honored local sporting talent. Each player will receive Rs 1 crore for their performances in the Olympics.



India concluded its Paris Olympics campaign with six medals, consisting of five bronze and one silver.

Under coach Craig Fulton, the Indian team created history by securing back-to-back Olympic bronze medals.

Harmanpreet Singh scored twice, ensuring victory with goals in the 30th and 33rd minutes. Marc Miralles scored the lone goal for Spain in the 18th minute.

Despite trailing 0-1 after the first quarter, the Indian team managed to secure the win in an electrifying atmosphere.

Harmanpreet emerged as the tournament's leading goal-scorer, netting 10 goals in eight matches and surpassing Australia's Blake Govers by three goals.
