NEW DELHI: In the women's 10m air rifle final at the Olympic Games in Chateauroux on Monday, Indian shooter Ramita Jindal finished seventh.

In an excellent eight-woman final, Ramita, 20, shot 145.3, according to PTI.

When the elimination round started, the young Indian shooter was ranked seventh after ten shots (104.0).

With a 10.5 Ramita moved up to sixth place, just as Norway's Hegg Jeanette Duestad was about to be eliminated. However, after that, the Indian was unable to save herself.

She did incredibly well in Sunday's qualifiers to secure the fifth spot for the final.

In the home trials, Ramita-the bronze medallist from the Hangzhou Asian Games-bested Tilottama Sen and Mehuli Ghosh, the winner of the World Championship, to secure a spot at the Paris Games.
